Samsung provides portable SSD storage of up to 1TB




Samsung has announced the Portable SSD T1, an external solid state drive which is available with storage capacities of 250GB to 1TB. The T1 supports hardware encryption and has a USB 3.0 connection.

The Portable SSD T1 measurement 71×9,2×53,2 millimeters and weighs approximately 30 grams. External SSD can be connected via a USB 3.0 cable to a PC or notebook. According to Samsung is able to achieve the SSD read and write speeds up to 450MB / s. Doing so would have been possible to 21,000 IOPS.

Samsung provides the T1 with 250GB, 500GB and 1TB of storage. Data on the storage media can be encrypted using 256bit AES encryption. Furthermore, Samsung claims that the T1 Portable SSD is much less susceptible to data loss than a regular external hard drive. The so-called Dynamic Thermal Guard technology must also secure the data at extreme temperature conditions.

The T1, which by default with the exFAT file system is formatted and also provides support for USB Attached SCSI protocol, according to the manufacturer is primarily intended for business users. Standard Samsung offers a three year warranty on the storage medium. The prices for the 250GB model starting at 200 euros.
