Samsung starts mass production 3GB DDR3 memory for mobile phones at 20nm By Arnoud Wokke




Samsung has started mass production of 6Gb memory to 20nm for smartphones and tablets with larger screens. With four of those chips Samsung is the size of 3GB faster memory modules in mobile products put, says the manufacturer.

Samsung manufactures the new memory at 20nm, while the previous generation of this memory that include the Galaxy Note 3 is still made ​​on a 20nm- class process: with the class mean that Samsung is somewhere between 20 and 30nm , believed to be 27 or 28nm.

The manufacturer claims that the new memory 10 percent more energy efficient than the previous generation. The 3GB memory would also be 20 percent smaller.
