Samsung has started production of processors on the second generation of its 14nm-process-FinFET. Has announced that the South Korean manufacturer. The socs which Samsung thereby making include the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 and 8 Exynos Octa.
Samsung calls this second generation Low Power Plus or lpp. The manufacturer claims last year to have made improvements to the structure of transistors and the process optimized to have, allowing processors of the bands in Samsung’s factories 15 percent faster and 15 percent more fuel efficient compared to 14nm processors of the previous generation , such as the Exynos Octa 7 which is in the S6 Galaxy series.
The South Korean manufacturer used the new process for its own Exynos Octa 8, but there is enough capacity to produce the Snapdragon 820-soc Qualcomm. Qualcomm had his socs make hitherto competitor to TSMC. The socs Qualcomm are in many high-end smartphones.
