Samsung takes smartphone on Hynix chips

South Korea’s Samsung Electronics is considering the purchase of mobile memory chip production rival SK Hynix. The company plans to use them in their future products, including the new flagship smartphone Galaxy S, which goes on sale later this month. This was announced by the head of the Business IT & Mobile Communications JK Shin, who most recently held the position as Chief Executive Director of Samsung .

The deal for the supply of mobile memory chips will give a boost to the development of the South Korean manufacturer of semiconductor products SK Hynix, which depends largely on the company Apple. The latter is a big customer of chip dynamic memory (RAM) for their mobile devices.

Chapter Samsung also noted that strengthening the supply chain associated with the preparation of the mobile manufacturers to upgrade their flagship products, in particular the increase in the internal memory.

Since the beginning of this year, the industry has seen the rise in prices of mobile chip DRAM.

Samsung, the world’s largest chip dynamic memory, which covers its needs from domestic resources, begins to stare at external suppliers in the event of a failure in the supply of key chips for smartphones series Galaxy S.

Analysts expect that coming on the market, Samsung Galaxy S4 , will surpass the sales not only predecessors, but also its main competitor – Apple iPhone, which in the fourth quarter of last year proved to be the clear leader.
