Samsung wants to make 11k smartphone screen




Samsung wants five years a 11k display for smartphones with 2250 pixels per inch. So says the manufacturer. Current smart phone screens have between 300 and 600 pixels per inch. The higher resolution must allow a proper 3D view.

Samsung and thirteen other companies to work on the screen to show a prototype at the 2018 Olympics, which take place in Samsung’s home country South Korea, reports ETNews.

With 11k standards are high and there are now TV manufacturers for much larger panels are preparing for 8K, four times the resolution of 4k also still new. The first 4K displays for smartphones should appear this year or next year.

It is unknown what the resolution would be for the 11k screen, but with a half times the number of pixels in height and width of an 8k-screen would come on 11520×6480 pixels.
