Samsung will receive 75% of orders for the release of processors for iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus




News Reuters, citing industry sources reported by Samsung getting most of orders (approximately 75% of the total) for the supply of processors for Apple A9. For the manufacture of a new generation of chips will use 14-nanometer process technology FinFET.


It is known that a temporary denial of service Apple Samsung contract manufacturing processors for the iPhone and iPad beyond the 20-nm technology will not spread, and most of the orders on the A9 processors will be shared between Samsung and GlobalFoundries, which consist in a single technological alliance. Source referring to South Korean media reported that Samsung’s share structure orders Apple to release 14-nm processors A9 can reach 75%. Who will serve the remaining quarter of orders, is not specified, but it may well be divided GlobalFoundries and TSMC. Note that the latter is strongly dependent on orders Apple to release 20-nm processor A8, so it is unlikely the company wants to give in so easily rival for orders for the release of the next generation of chips Apple.
