‘Samsung will soon open Bixby for developers’

It seems that Samsung plans to give developers quick access to Bixby, making it easier to integrate the voice and information service into third-party apps. This means Samsung competitors Google and Amazon.

This reports the well-established The Wall Street Journal on the basis of sources. According to the business newspaper, Samsung plans to make the official announcement next week during its developer conference, which it organizes in San Francisco. Bixby should then be fully open to developers, making it easier to create functions for the voice and information service, or to integrate them into applications.

With the probable plans, which Samsung has not yet confirmed, Samsung competes with Google and Amazon, with Assistant and Alexa respectively already offering developers the opportunity to get started with the software.

Samsung would also like to announce new functionality for Bixby during the developer conference. For the time being, the service only has a slight popularity; critics argue that the software works less well than that of competitors Google, Amazon and Apple. Samsung is also struggling to find developers for its current developer program, which is currently undergoing a beta.
