SanDisk Announces The World’s Largest MicroSD Memory Card

SanDisk Corporation ( NASDAQ : SNDX) today announced a new microSD memory card, the largest in the world.

The new external memory card for smart phones and tablets, the Ultra MicroSD UHS-I, offers a capacity of 400 GB.

The new storage card stores more Full HD video, and can only transfer up to 1,200 images per minute, the storage solutions company said.

The new Ultra microSD UHS-I takes the title of the world’s largest microSD card from a Samsung 256GB card last year.

The memory card can transmit data at 100 megabits per second and is categorized as SDXC UHS-I.

Without the market availability, SanDisk said the new Ultra microSD UHS-I will be available for $ 249.99.

In addition to the new external memory card, SanDisk today also announced iXPAND BASE , a charging and storage base for custom-made backups for iPhone phones.

The company explained that the “AccessBase” can be used as a wired charging base, and at the same time automatically take back up images, videos and contacts. It comes with capacities up to 256 gigabytes.
