Saturn and its moons
We are not the first time to share with you pictures sixth planet from the Sun – Saturn, none of these images will not leave anyone indifferent. Portal Wired published another very interesting picture of the gas giant and its moons.
Large orange disc on the right side of the photo – is Titan, the largest moon of Saturn, whose dimensions are larger than Mercury, the closest planet to the Sun. On the left side of the photo over the rings of the planet friendly systems “sneak” (left to right) Enceladus, Dione. The most extreme right – Mimas, the smallest moon of Saturn. Its diameter is only about 400 kilometers (about 10 percent of the diameter of the moon).
This photo was taken with the Wide Field Camera 2 space telescope “Hubble” February 24, 2009, when the distance between Saturn and the Earth was about 1.24 billion kilometers. Optics “Hubble” allows the telescope at a distance to see the details on the planet up to 300 kilometers.
