Scientists have found one of the appropriate solution to the question of World Hunger


The possibility of acute hunger increase by factors such as limited space and poor climate regions, where it is impossible or very difficult to grow food. Built on a group of researchers at Virginia Institute under the control of Professor Percival Zhang process of any plant (including even the weeds), about 30 percent of the pulp can be processed into amylose, which is one of the polysaccharides starch – an excellent source of fiber, which is easily digested in the intestinal tract. “Cellulose and starch are substantially the same chemical formula. The difference lies only in their chemical interactions. Our idea is to use a cascade of enzyme to break the chemical bonds in cellulose and its prospects for future reconfiguration starch “- says Zhang.

This process requires no heating, no expensive equipment or chemicals. Moreover, even waste remains. Seventy percent of the remaining pulp which can not be processed into starch through hydrolysis processed into glucose, which can then be used in the production of ethanol.

Zhang added that the resulting starch can be used not only in the food industry, but also as a component for the production of environmentally friendly and biodegradable food packaging or even as a carrier of hydrogen with high density.
