Scientists have found three exoplanets

Astronomers have already found several hundred ekoplanet , but so far none of them, unfortunately, proved to be similar to our Earth, and which could potentially life began. The more planets, scientists are, the more likely it is that sooner or later “Earth Room 2” still be found.

Scientists at the European Southern Observatory is currently turned their attention to the already relatively well-studied star Gliese 667. And not without reason: near it were found three new planets, located in a potentially habitable zone.

In previous studies, scientists have found that the stars revolve around at least three planets, one of which is potentially habitable zone. New data also suggest that the star has at least seven planets, three of which are located close enough to the star that on their surface could be liquid water. All three exoplanets are categorized as “super-Earth” that is, they are larger than our own planet, but less than, for example, Uranus.

“We already know from previous studies that revolve around this star and three planets so we decided to check, and maybe there’s a few more?” – Says Mikko Tuomi from the University of Hertfordshire (UK) and one of the early pioneers.

“Adding the new results of observation and comparing them with previous data, we realized that in addition to these three planets, there are a few more similar.”
