Scientists: to improve memory, have a cup of coffee

It has long been known that coffee has a number of properties that affect the human body . However, according to recent studies, scientists have found out that caffeine has a positive effect on long-term human memory.

In an article published in the journal Nature Neuroscience, reported that people who consume one or more cups of coffee , significantly improved memory function, making a person less forgetful during the day.

Research conducted under the direction of Daniel fight at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore (USA) on a group of 160 volunteers aged 18-30 years. People have shown a set of photographs for several minutes. Further, in the experiment, the volunteers were divided into two groups, one of which received a tablet with 200 milligrams caffeine and the other placebo.

The next day, the researchers showed wards a new set of images, which consisted of new and similar to yesterday’s image. Scientists asked to show what images they met or were similar to those shown yesterday. According to scientists, this approach had much “load” the brain, showing the desired results.

As the results of experiment, the volunteers who took caffeine pills, more often remembered images and found differences in the sets of pictures. Under assumptions of neurologists, this experiment shows us that caffeine may temporarily improve our memory functions, reports

Also, scientists have been experimenting with the dosage of caffeine in 100 and 300 milligrams. However, it turned out that it was 200 milligrams of caffeine gives the best result. The scientists also report that they will continue to carry out experiments to find out exactly the mechanisms by which coffee may affect the long-term memory.
