Sea of Thieves Preview – Piraatje play new game from Rare
The doors of the E3 game exhibition in Los Angeles are now long closed, and at the time of publication of this article is approaching the plane of the E3 team Tweakers again Schiphol Airport. Still, we will look back in time. On the Monday before the E3 trade show Microsoft organized a special event with its full line-up for E3 was already playable. Previously, you could see that we were the new Xbox One S here have scrutinized, and later this week will also 4 Dead Rising and Gears of War 4 will be reviewed. Today, however attention to a less obvious choice. During the Microsoft press conference was clear, after a very brief announcement at E3 last year, expanded display of the latest game development studio Rare. That proved to be a very entertaining title.
The game Sea of Thieves runs, as the name implies, to pirates. Players can explore a completely open world that is shared with other players. That means it naturally comes to confrontations between the players, while everyone is busy with his own plans. The plans can be very versatile. Players will be able to perform quests in the final game, can explore the sea and islands, go on adventures with other players or just battle with other players. At the latter was at E3 emphasis. Rare left three teams of five players play each with its own ship on a relatively small piece of sea, so often would come to confrontation and its players would get great how fighting works at sea in Sea of Thieves.
That playable demo, because that is the fact, is much less extensive than the game will be. From the trailer, but also by talking to a number of producers of Rare, we already know a little more about how the game eventually will look like. So it is certainly not the case that you should always sail with a crew of five. Players who prefer their own to pull out of, or in conjunction with one other player, can do just that. The game contains, as has been confirmed, boats that can be manned by one or two players, and probably will there still be more intermediate sizes for groups of three or four. It corresponds to the idea of freedom which Rare has for the game. Freedom in what you do and who you do it.
That freedom, players at sea but also on land. How the relationship in gameplay between land and sea will be exactly is not clear yet, but Rare sees the opportunity to go ashore as a breather. Some of the quests will also play on land, thus ashore sometimes go a very specific purpose, but that pause function plays. According to the present developers long on a boat can sit down feel a little claustrophobic. It’s nice when you can just go ashore and you can stretch your legs. What’s country to do exactly, we can only speculate, but given the additional activities and style of the game we can imagine that there are pirates villages to where you can do yourself indulge in drink, et cetera. namely every pirate has a beer mug and a musical instrument with them. No pirate is looking forward to always be sober but, of course. Nice touch is that you have a lot less runs right in your drunken state, swims and targets. But hey, Jack Sparrow also took his best zones not sober.Viewing:-86
