Seagate Announces external-7mm HDD with 750GB capacity




Seagate has announced a new hard drive in his Seven series of thin external storage. The disk with a thickness of 7 mm has a storage capacity of 750GB and is equipped with a USB 3.0 connection.

Seven series of drives is primarily intended as an external storage for laptop users and up to now there was only a 500GB version available. Seagate is now available with a 750GB version, already seems provisionally to become available in the US only. The drives are molded in a metal enclosure and features a USB 3.0 interface.

The price of the 750GB drive is not yet known. The 500GB version is for 109 euros in the Pricewatch. Hard disks having a thickness of 7 mm and a single platter be used for many years, inter alia, ultra-books, and also there are already hybrid discs with this thickness. The drives face increasing competition from SSDs, which are getting cheaper.
