C usb port works with USB 3.1. The external HDD requires Windows 8 or later, or OS X 10:11 or later. In addition, a USB port c needed on the PC to operate the drive. That port is since last year on devices like the Apple MacBook and Pixel laptop from Google. The Innov8 to come out next month and cost 399 euros.
