Seagate introduces new NAS systems




Seagate has been in the business market oriented nas series renewed. In addition to two basic models with two and four drive bays, the manufacturer shall also three Nas Pro models on the market with more processing power and memory available.

The two Nas-based models feature a dual-core Marvell CPU and 512MB RAM. The storage consists of diskless configurations and models available with disk configurations from 2TB to 5TB per drivebay which the model with four drive bays make available a gross storage of up to 20TB. The model with two drive bays has a gigabit connection and the model with four drive bays, two counts. According to the manufacturer, the NAS models accommodate up to 25 users.

Seagate aims to Nas Pro-line businesses with up to 50 users. It is also a storage included in the series that is good for six drive bays, allowing the maximum 30TB capacity may amount. The Nas Pro systems feature a powerful dual-core Atom processor with 2GB RAM and USB 3.0 connectors.

According to the manufacturer Simply Raid algorithm provides the necessary safety and raid setups built quickly. Further, the business firmware, called NAS OS 4 apps run for safety in a sandbox. By default, the operating system supports a number of cloud storage services, but according to Tech Report is further limited app offerings. However, Seagate has called SDrive apps for mobile devices released in order to be able to remotely access files.

In total, Seagate provides 25 different configurations of the new models, with prices starting at $ 199, about 145 euros, ending at $ 2500, or 1837 euros. The NAS systems are already available, though the 5TB drives available until next month. Seagate promises further NAS OS 4 as an upgrade to start offering the two-nas models released last year with four and eight drive bays.
