Self-assembling robot – virtually indestructible

niversity of Pennsylvania researchers who gave us not a single robot, developed another very interesting specimen. This self-assembling robot, as the name implies, can be restored in case of failure and to take the same shape, making it virtually unbreakable. Each robot consists of 15 modular parts that add up to 3 cluster of 5 pieces; Each cluster is equipped with a camera (20fps), which by-flashing LED bulbs is other “parts” and accelerometers to reconstruct the robot itself by a magnetic attraction to each other. Fortunately for mankind, these robots do not possess artificial intelligence, so that in the near future do not plan to capture the Earth 🙂
