Sharp unveils UD20 series UHDTV’s

Sharp has at the IFA fair announced its first UHDTV for the European market. The UD20 devices with screen diagonals of 60 “and 70”, would have a wider color range than competing UHDTV programs. Feature

The UD20 TVs use Sharp’s Rich Colour Display-imaging technology. This technique whereby the backlight system would be improved promises a wider color spectrum. Sharp argues that his UHDTV offers a 23 percent wider spectrum than regular TVs. The super high resolution image engine should take care of the video upscaling to 4K resolutions.

Sharp has integrated into the UD20 devices Yahama Audio Engine technology that the audio playback should improve. Furthermore, the manufacturer reports that the TVs are THX certified.

The devices have a thin edge of 10mm. The UHDTV’s further support Mira Cast and DLNA. Also have televisions with four HDMI 2.0 inputs. The Sharp LC-60UQ10EN and LC-70UQ10EN are this month in stores with retail prices of 3299 and 4999 euros respectively.
