showing web store name on statement

Rabobank is in discussion with payment providers about showing web store name on statement Rabobank starts by showing the name of web shops on statements, if those stores use the Rabo service OmniKassa. The bank also wants to cooperate with major payment service providers.

The OmniKassa service is a paid subscription with which webshops can process payments. If customers order something from shops that use them, the name of the store will now appear on the statement instead of Rabo OmniKassa. The impact of that is probably small. As an example, the bank only mentions a foundation that uses the service.

However, Rabobank also says that it is talking to major payment service providers. If one of the service providers applies Rabobank’s solution, the store name will be visible in about ten percent of all iDEAL transactions, according to the bank. It is not known how far the conversations have progressed.

Many webshops work with major payment service providers, such as Adyen, and CM Payments. If consumers order something from such a webshop, only the name of the service provider will appear on the statement. The Consumers’ Association last year opened a hotline for incomprehensible names on bank statements. As a result, the Lower House adopted a motion that insists on transparency.
