Sigma announces 24-35mm f2 DG HSM to Art




Sigma has announced a new angle in the Art series with a range of 24-35mm. The lens with an aperture of f / 2.0 throughout the zoom range is designed for full-frame cameras. It consists of 18 elements in 13 groups and weighs 940 grams.

The lens with a filter size of 82mm is the long awaited equivalent to 35mm sensors two years ago released 18-35mm f / 1.8 lens for APS-C cameras. Sigma states that the lens brightness f / 2.0 must be a perfect replacement for a set 24mm-, 28mm- and 35mm prime lenses. The lens is available for Sigma, Canon and Nikon mounts.

It is equipped with Sigma’s fdl-glass and seven super-low-dispersion -Glass elements, two aspherical. Also, at large aperture could be the chromatic aberration and curvature should be minimal. The diaphragm itself is made up of nine blades. The minimum focusing distance is 28cm with a maximum magnification of 1: 4.4. The length of the lens itself is 122,7mm.

Via a USB dock to adjust various settings and update the firmware. The lens can also be used in crop cameras, but then the miniature range equivalent to 36-52,5mm. A suggested retail price is probably published in the course of next week.
