Sky launches its own VR app for Android, iOS and Oculus Rift with exclusive content




Pay TV provider Sky has as of today own VR app for Android and iOS at the start. No rush job, for several years now Sky is working on his VR expertise and has also invested in 2013 Jaunt. It is a company that now also provides content for the app. Speaking of content, Sky offers several of them, labeled as Sky VR Exclusives. 360 degree videos from different areas are available, the start is around 20 in number, in the next few months, the features should be enhanced to improve the experience.

Warner Brothers – “Suicide Squad – Squad 360” – gives the feeling to be part of the Suicide Squad in a movie scene
“Team Sky – Journey to the Tour” – followed the wheel team in preparation for the third Tour de France
“F1® – Team Williams” – viewers get a glimpse behind the scenes of the Williams pit lane and go on board the racing car
“Sky News – Calais: The Jungle” – provides insights into a center of the refugee crisis with images from “The Jungle”
Baobab Studios – “Invasion” – a VR animation about two aliens who want to take over the world in itself, but must first overcome two formidable white rabbits
Jaunt – “Paul McCartney: Dance Tonight” – accompanied Paul McCartney in the origin of the song and the music video

Viewers of David Beckham are taken by the hand and can use the biggest sports events in the world to visit, produced by Sky VR Studios in cooperation with Google: With “Cloder Sky Sports” ( Hello Daydream? ). Sky emfpiehlt use a Google Cardboard headset with apps, you can see the contents but even without such a 2D look. Similarly, the app works with Samsung’s Gear VR and Oculus Rift. Available is Sky VR in Germany, Austria, Italy, the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, France and the USA.
