Skylanders: Superchargers – Racing with your Skylanders

Years ago, Activision’s plan for real, to make tangible figures and to process through a special platform in a game. The concept proved a resounding success, and now Skylanders is a concept, especially among the younger gamers. It is so successful that several companies are trying to develop their own version of the game, with Disney Infinity and Lego: Dimensions as two prominent examples. Still keep the Skylanders franchise in several ways a nice edge over the competition.

Appears on: Wii, WiiU, 3DS, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, iOS

That’s clever, when you consider that Skylanders has a major handicap facing the two competitors that we just mentioned. Both Disney and Lego has several licenses and / or licensing deals, so the figures in their games are not ‘random’ are fictional characters, but iconic characters. Disney Infinity after all you can with both Disney characters as Star Wars characters get to work, and in Lego: Dimensions are the Lego versions of characters like Batman, Homer Simpson and Gandalf passed. Skylanders is still called the Nintendo icons in the house, but that is nothing compared to what the competition can offer.

However, the developers behind Skylanders do not worry right away. The concept consists primarily of two parts, toys and games. The toy hand it without the presence of that game probably lose out to the toys of the other parties. The game draws that balance, however, completely legal and ensures that Skylanders ultimately the best product of the three seems to be. The package uses the figures as ‘extra’ and scores with gameplay, whereas in a game like Disney Infinity only is questionable.

With Skylanders: Superchargers Activision builds the total range of what Skylanders is now even further. Of course with new characters, but especially with new gameplay. Superchargers owes its existence to the brand new racing mode. The nice thing is that all previous Skylanders figures may be used in this new game, which immediately produces a huge number of choices.
