Snapchat glasses will come out in Benelux for 175 euros next week

Snap releases the second generation of Spectacles glasses next week. He comes right out in the Benelux and will cost 175 euros. The biggest changes are that the glasses can also take pictures and that they are lighter than the previous version of a year and a half ago.

The second generation Spectacles glasses have an unknown camera sensor that takes pictures at a maximum of 2.7 megapixels. It concerns round photos with 1642×1642 pixels. The glasses make videos at 1216×1216 pixels with 60fps. The lens has an aperture of f / 2.2 and an angle of view of 105 degrees.

The new glasses are also waterproof and can therefore also film in shallow water, says Snap . The manufacturer supplies a tube that can charge the glasses up to four times. The glasses themselves can make up to seventy ten-second videos on a battery charge. The battery capacity of the glasses and case are unknown.

The glasses weigh 44 grams and are therefore lighter than the previous version. Moreover, it is slightly less striking, because the elements with the camera and the LEDs no longer have a yellow ring in the black version. He comes available in various colors for 175 euros.

The first version of the glasses came out in the autumn of 2016. Spectacles has also been available in the Benelux since the summer of last year. The first glasses have turned out to be a financial setback for Snap. The company wrote forty million dollars, because it had had many copies produced that it could not sell. Many people after a short time already did not use the Spectacles glasses anymore.
