Software Update: Samsung SSD 840 EVO Performance Restoration Software 1.0




Samsung has released a tool that the performance issues with SSDs from the 840 EVO series to solve. The program first update the firmware for the SATA models to EXT0CB6Q and the mSATA models to EXT42B6Q, and then the ssd scanned and calibrated. At this time, there is only program that does both for Windows. Later this month, there must be a dos version appear, so that computers running OS X or Linux can be updated.

Samsung SSD 840 EVO Performance Restoration Software

Samsung is releasing a new firmware restoration and performance software package for the 840 EVO and EVO 840 mSATA. The firmware update is recommended to users who have experienced any May drop in read performance of the Mentioned drives.

Running the software packages provided will first update the firmware (840 EVO: EXT0CB6Q, 840 EVO mSATA: EXT42B6Q), then scan and calibrate all Existing data on the drive.
