Sonos adds True Play feature for audio calibration to iOS app

Sonos has added the previously announced True Play feature to its iOS app. The acoustics of the room where the Sonos speaker able to measure up to the microphone of an iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch, the audio output can be adjusted automatically.

In late September announced Sonos True Play function, now the manufacturer has an update released for its iOS app Sonos Controller, where the promised functionality is processed. The calibration tool works in conjunction with a device that runs on iOS 7 or later and may the sound of the Sonos Play: 1, Play: 3 and Play: 5 adapt to the space where the state.

Sonos does that send out a tone and to record with the microphone of the iOS device. The acoustics of the room can be so determined and the settings are then adjusted according to the manufacturer so that the sound always sounds the same, regardless of the position of the speaker.

Play True currently works only with the Play-speakers Sonos. At the time of its introduction suggested the manufacturer that functionality later also available for the other speakers of the brand. It is not known whether getting the Android app Sonos later True Play.
