Sonos says talking to Apple about Siri integration in audio products

Sonos says it is talking with Apple to build in digital assistant Siri in his audio products. Sonos products can work with Amazon Alexa and thanks to a future update with Google Assistant.

Apple has not yet opened Siri to third party products and it is unknown if that will happen. The director of Sonos, Patrick Spence, tells The Verge that the company is having discussions with Apple about the integration of Siri. There seems to be no decision on the subject yet.

Spence: “I think Apple has to decide whether it will open Siri for third parties, we have a good relationship with Apple and we have had discussions about this, and I look forward to talking to Apple more about this.”

Apple uses Siri in its own speaker Homepod and gives users and app developers more opportunities to use the digital assistant in the upcoming iOS 12 upgrade. Apple has been offering Siri since 2011.
