Sony announced Thursday its new phones, the Xperia XZ1 and the Xperia XZ1 Compact, at the International Consumer Electronics Show in Berlin, the IFA 2017.

The new smart phones come with the same familiar design as the Japanese company’s phones, but they feature the latest version of the Android OS 8.0, making it the first of two new phones to run.

The two phones share a number of specifications, including the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 and the 19-megapixel Camera Motion Eye camera Sony launched last year on the Xperia XZ Premium. The camera also has a 3D scanning feature that allows objects to be photographed to be printed on 3D printers or shared on social networks.

As for the other specifications, the Xperia XZ1 offers a 5.2-inch LCD screen with 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution, with Gorilla Glass 5 protection and HDR support. It also provides 4 GB RAM and 64 GB of internal storage space, up to 256GB.

The phone has a 19-megapixel rear camera with Exmor RS sensor with 960fps slow motion video recording and a 13 megapixel front camera with wide-angle lens.

The Xperia XZ1 features a 2700mAh battery, a USB-C port and Quick Charge 3.0 charging technology that allows the phone to charge 50% Just half an hour.

The phone, which weighs 155 grams and comes with a fingerprint sensor, is a waterproof and dust resistant IP68, which means that it can withstand underwater for half an hour at a depth of 1.5 meters.

With the Xperia X1 Compact, it offers the same Xperia X1, except that it comes with a 4.6- inch LCD screen with 1280 x 720 pixel resolution and 32GB of internal storage space.

The phone has the same rear camera and capabilities, but the front camera comes accurately 8 megapixels, and weighs the phone 143 grams.

Sony plans to offer its new smart phone for $ 699.99 for the Xperia XZ1 phone at $ 599.99 for the Xperia X1 Compact.
