Sony announced on Monday that sales of its PlayStation 4 gaming platform exceeded 60.4 million units, showing its dominance in the market in which it competes with Microsoft’s Xbox One platforms.

Sony also announced a set of new and exclusive video games for the PlayStation 4, which is characterized by the abundance of exclusive games, which is widely believed to be the reason for the superiority The platform on its competitors.

Among the games revealed by Sony, a new version of Spider-Man, Uncharted 4, in addition to God of War and Day Gone, and more games will be available later this year or early next year.

Sony has not only announced sales of the PlayStation 4 exceeded 60.4 million units, but also announced that the owners of the platform bought 487.8 digital and commercial version of the games, which means that the rate was 8 games per platform.

“We are very grateful to our fans and partners around the world who have continued to support the PlayStation 4,” said Playhouse Manager Andrew House. “The PlayStation 4 platform is at the forefront, with the industry’s best combination of exclusive and joint gaming to be launched this year, taking full advantage of the strength of the PlayStation 4 system.”

Sony announced last April that its sales of the PlayStation 4 exceeded 60 million units as it announced its financial results for the fourth quarter of its fiscal year ending on March 31, 2017.

In 2016, the electronics giant said it shipped more than 20 million units of PlayStation 4, the world’s leading gaming platform, compared to 17.7 million units in 2015.

For comparison, late last year Sony announced that its sales of the PlayStation 4 reached 50 million units by 6 December 2016, driven by strong demand during the end-of-year season.

Sales of the PlayStation 4, launched in November 2013, exceeded 40 million units in May 2016, and in January 2016 the figure was over 35.9 million units.

Sony ‘s announcement of sales of its gaming platform comes just a day after Microsoft announced the new Xbox Onex platform, which, in terms of specifications, outperforms all PlayStation 4 platforms.
