Sony begins selling PlayStation VR in the Benelux




Sony on Thursday began selling the Playstation VR. The virtual-reality headset works with all versions of the PlayStation 4 and is approximately 400 euros in stores. When the headset must be purchased a camera loose.

PlayStation VR is from 398 euros in the Pricewatch. In the box there is the VR headset, the extra processor unit, earphones, a HDMI cable, USB cable, power cable and an adapter to connect the headset.

Before using the headset is also PlayStation 4 Eye camera needed, which costs about sixty euros. Sony has announced a new version of the camera for PlayStation VR, called the Camera V2. This has a different look than the Eye Camera, but is technically identical. It does a rumor that Sony is working on a collection of the new camera and the VR headset, but it is at the time of writing not yet available.

PlayStation VR Different games use the Move controller. The controller is designed for motion and starting to buy about fifty euros. Many racing games benefit from the use of a wheel. Prices for steering wheels range from eighty to several hundred euros.

At present there are thirty games for the PlayStation 4 available which support PlayStation VR. Examples here are Rise of the Tomb Raider: Blood Ties, Batman: Arkham VR Drive Club VR, Eve: Valkyrie and Playroom VR. There are over a hundred games announced that have yet to appear, such as Star Wars Battlefront: X-Wing VR and different racing games, such as TrackMania, Gran Turismo and Project Cars.

PlayStation VR will compete with the Oculus Rift and the HTC Vive. It is currently the only VR headset that works with game consoles. Rift and Vive both work only on PC and have a screen with a higher resolution than the PlayStation VR. The headsets are a lot more expensive. Rift stands for 799 euros in PriceWatch and Vive, including controllers, for 959 euros.
