Sony brings augmented-reality glasses to Belgium and the Netherlands for 800 euros




Sony begins in March with the sale of the developer version of its augmented-reality glasses in the Netherlands and Belgium. The manufacturer will charge 800 euros for the device and started the presale in Germany and the UK.

The SmartEyeglass Developer Edition SED E1 will be available in March in ten countries, so does Sony announced. The presale Tuesday started in Germany, the UK, the US and Japan. In March may also interested in Belgium, Netherlands, Italy, Spain, France and Sweden the glasses purchase .

Sony’s SmartEyeglass is a full glasses with lenses having a thickness of 3mm, which are transparent to 85 percent. The displayed image is monochrome green, with a resolution of 419×138 pixels. In the frame they accelerometer, gyroscope, compass, light sensor and a 3-megapixel camera processed. Sony supplies the wearable in combination with a separate controller, in which a loudspeaker is integrated. The glasses works with an Android smartphone which the running apps.
