Sony brings first PS2 games for the PlayStation 4

Sony has, as expected, the first games made for the PlayStation 2 made available for the PlayStation 4. It is eight games, including some from the GTA series, which can be purchased from PlayStation Store. Physical PS2 games on disk does not operate.

The games when it comes to his Dark Cloud, GTA 3, GTA: San Andreas, GTA: Vice City, Rogue Galaxy, The Mark of Kri, War of the Monsters and Twisted Metal: Black. According to Sony can the games be purchased from PlayStation Store in the US and Europe, where sales will begin Saturday at 21:00 hours Dutch time.

Sony has the old games upscaled to a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels with 60 frames per second and several features added to it. Thus, there is support for Remote Play, Activity Feeds, and second screen, and Sony in partnership with the original creators Trophies added.

Previously appeared already at new Sony PlayStation 4 bundles some PS2 games ax verde which are run on the console emulation. These included old Star Wars games. Thus was already expected that the manufacturer would soon start offering PS2 games through his shop. However, it is not possible to use game discs that contain games for the PlayStation 2 in the new console.
