Sony brings preview of Android M firmware for Xperia devices




Sony has released a preview of Android M firmwares released for much of its recent high-end devices, including smartphones and Z3 Z3 Compact and the Z1 and Z2 Tablet Tablet Compact. The firmware is not intended for everyday use.

The preview builds are intended for developers, who can thus test their apps on Android M, says Sony. The firmwares are not suitable for everyday use. So the camera does not work and supports the Sony modem software either, making mobile Internet connections are not working. Moreover, the important Google apps for many users lack the firmware.

Sony has released the preview for all the devices in its Open Device Program , including the Z3, Z3 Tablet Compact, Compact Z3, Z2, Z2 Tablet, Z1, Z1 Compact, Z1 Tablet, Z Ultra Ultra ,, T2, T3 and M2 fall.

It is the first time that a company outside Google releases something with Android M . The next Android version, which includes more permissive manager and a new main menu, comes out this fall. When Sony devices is updated and which devices they are, is not yet known. It is not automatically so that devices will also get get an update this preview.
