Sony buys Belgian company that creates depth cameras for Intel and Oculus




Sony has bought the Belgian company Soft Kinetic. The Brussels company made depth cameras and has worked at the Oculus Rift. It is unknown what Sony will pay for the take over of Softkinetic.

Sony wants to take over a new generation of depth cameras and sensors. The sensors can measure distances to objects and Sony wants to combine technology with its own technology, writes the business. Softkinetic is in Brussels and has 77 employees. Softkinetic the acquisition is a subsidiary of the Japanese group.
