Sony could sell its business of manufacturing smartphones

Last year, Sony has sold his business for the production of notebook VAIO, and now a similar situation in and around the company’s smartphones. At CES 2015, Kazuo Hirai, executive director of Sony said that business related to the production of television sets and mobile devices requires a “major overhaul” and the most effective solution to the problems could be the creation of joint ventures or alliances. Given that the Japanese corporation has lost its leading position in these areas, we can assume that we are talking about some restructuring of production or of the possibility of merging with other companies. According to Kazuo Hirai, if you do not take any radical steps, both industries will become unprofitable for the company three years later.
