Sony is the latest addition to the EverQuest game series announced: EverQuest Next. The mmorpg can be seen as a reboot of the franchise and will play his charge. Thanks to the voxel engine it should be possible to significantly affect the environment.
Developer Sony Online Entertainment called EverQuest Next a “reimagining” of the series. The PC game is still in the land of Norrath players and although the previous games will recognize names and places, there will be a lot of things have changed.
The ‘free to play’ game is built on the basis of the Forge Light engine and uses voxels to render the world. This means that the world is made up of three-dimensional pixels, so it can be large parts of the world destroyed by the player. Think of craters in the ground when using a forc spell, tearing down a wall around a city or disabling a bridge.

EQ Next will not work with a traditional leveling system. In the beginning, the player gets to choose from forty different classes or professions, as well as each player can choose which abilities themselves and weapon skills he or she wants to work. For example, may be formed according to the makers truly unique characters with a unique set of properties.

Another point where the developers emphasize the sandbox nature of the game: everyone can decide how he or she plays the game itself.
