Sony does not use Android for its smart watches Wear
Sony will not use special Wear Android, Google’s operating system for smart watches. The company will use its own Android-based smart watch platform with its own applications.
“We have time and energy invested in this platform and we go on with it,” states Ravi Nookala, head of Sony’s mobile division in the U.S. versus Cnet. This Sony stores in the same way as Samsung already did . That company has long been engaged in the development of the open source operating system Tizen and will be used in the Galaxy Gear 2. However, Sony’s “work closely” with Google in the development of the Sony SmartWatch.
Manufacturers LG and Motorola in the future with smart watches who use Android Wear. LG is working on the G Watch and the Motorola Moto 360.
