Sony introduces e-reader with resolution of 758×1024 pixels




Sony has announced at IFA PRS-T3, a new e-reader that the current T2 model should follow. The e-reader is lighter than its predecessor, however, has a 6 “e-ink screen that Sony has increased the resolution to 758×1024 pixels. Lighting is not present.

The housing of the PRS-T3 has rounder shapes than its predecessor and the weight of the e-reader is further reduced: according to Sony, the weight of 200 grams including the standard supplied snap cover. The e-ink display that has a diagonal of 6 “, offers a resolution of 758×1024 pixels with 16 shades of gray, while the PRS-TS2 it had to do with a resolution of 600×800 beedpunten.

The touch operation remained, but in the e-reader has no lights built, as is the case with many recent e-readers. A reading light can be added with the optional PRSACL30-cover that cost 50 euros. The LED involves taking the power directly from the battery of the e-reader.

Sony PRS-T3 with 2GB of internal flash storage. This can be enhanced with micro sd cards. According to the manufacturer, the battery can keep the average two full months when wifi is turned off. Activating 802.11n wifi endurance is 1.5 months. Sony PRS-TS3 uses for a suggested retail price of 139 euros which can be white, black or red version chosen.
