Sony is close two-thirds of its stores in the U.S.
Today, Sony issued a press release, according to which in the near future will close 20 of 31 existing official company stores in the United States.
New CEO Kazuo Hirai of the Japanese company Sony continues to restructure in all possible directions. As you already know, the Japanese decided to discontinue production of laptops Vaio, which in recent years has attracted much business to the bottom, bringing huge losses. Now turn and official stores, the proceeds of which greatly reduced the pressure in the face of rivals Samsung and Apple.
Over the past two years, Sony has cut about 12,000 jobs, closing some unprofitable divisions. Closure of the 20 official stores deprive of another 1,000 people. You should not consider this inhuman act of a Japanese corporation, as the business has to make very difficult decisions. And if something interferes with growth and profitability – this should get rid of as soon as possible in order to reduce losses to a minimum.
