Sony launches Xperia Z2 6.4mm thin tablet




Sony has unveiled its new Xperia Tablet Z2 with 10.1 “screen at the MCW show in Barcelona. Tablet displays a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels and features a Snapdragon 801-soc. Especially with its small thickness and water resistance, the device must stand.

The processor of the new Xperia tablet is the new Snapdragon 801 quad-core Qualcomm, who works at 2.3 GHz does and thus is slightly faster than the Snapdragon 800. The GPU is the Adreno 330. There is 3GB of memory available and that is more than 2GB where current Xperia Z tablet features.

The screen has a diagonal of 10.1 inches and Sony chose the same resolution as its current Xperia tablet: 1920×1200 pixels. Also unchanged is that the tablet is waterproof, which are high-end Sony Xperia products it tries to distinguish.

Thickness must be also distinctive: the Xperia Tablet Z 2 is 6.4 mm thick. This Sony has some of the thickness of the previous Xperia tablet managed to scrape off: that was 9.9 mm thick. In comparison, the iPad Air is 7.5 mm thick. The weight is 426 grams for the WiFi model and 439 grams for the variant that supports LTE. The battery capacity is 6000mAh. Sony brings the tablet in black or white. The Wi-Fi version with 16GB will cost 500 euros, the 32GB version with euro 550. For the LTE version 630 euros must be neergeteld.De WiFi versions of the tablet Z2 appear in late March, the LTE variant following mid-April.
