Sony Pictures expects to have critical systems in February online after hack




Sony has announced Friday that the network of Sony Pictures, which last year was hit by a massive hack upcoming month is back online. The Japanese company says the recovery will take longer include faulty hardware.

In a statement it filed with the Japanese authorities let the company know that it is still suffering from the massive cyber attack last year. The devastating attack put the network down and damaged hardware, says Sony. Most critical systems will be operational again in early February.

Sony Pictures switched after the cyber attack in the FBI. Who claimed earlier this month that probably North Korea was behind the attack. Service based inter alia on an analysis of the malware used, which would be similar to other Korean code. North Korea still firmly denies.

When the hack knew attackers to computers thousands of Sony employees inaccessible by erasing data. Moreover, steel and they published the data of 47,000 Sony employees and former employees, including salary data.
