Sony has announced a new version of the Cybershot RX100 camera. The RX100 VI is equipped with a 24-200 mm f / 2.8-4.5 lens. The RX100 VI has a much larger zoom range than its predecessor with a 24-70 mm lens, but the new camera is less bright.

Like previous versions, the RX100 VI has a stacked 1- meter Exmor RS sensor that is combined with dram memory and has a resolution of 20.1 megapixels and has the Bionz X image processor of the A9 fullframe, for example. It does not have, like the RX 100V, a Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T 24-70mm f / 1.8-f / 2.8 lens, but a Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T 24-200 mm f / 2.8-4.5. consists of fifteen elements in twelve groups, eight aspherical lens elements, two low dispersion elements and a built-in nd filter.

The electronic viewfinder, which, just as with previous versions, has been removed from the body, has an OLED screen with a resolution of 2.35 million pixels. In the RX100 VI, the viewfinder does not have to be extended horizontally after being folded up for use. The image stabilization of the lens could compensate up to 4 stops.

The device, like its predecessor, has 315 phase focus focus points, which could be focused in 0.03 seconds this time. These 315 autofocus points fill approximately 65 percent of the image. Photographs can be taken at a speed of 24fps while maintaining autofocus and the buffer is good for 233 photos. Filming can be done in 4k resolution and in the hdr format hlg in 8-bit, where the framerate is not clear; in full-HD resolution can be filmed in 120fps. Filming in slow motion is also possible: this can be done with 250, 500 or 1000 fps. Further, the tracking of the eyes of a subject would have been improved.

The RX100 VI is about the same size as the RX100 V and now has a touch screen, which can be used to focus, for example, by choosing a focal point with a finger. The screen is still tilted 180 degrees up and 90 degrees down. The Sony RX100 VI arrives in Europe in July and receives a price tag of about 1300 euros.
