Sony stops PlayStation Mobile for Android phones




Sony stops supporting PlayStation Mobile for Android smartphones. PSM works to Android 4.4.2, but higher versions and future Android versions will have no more support for playing PlayStation games.

Stopping the support is in Japanese support pages, discovered tech site The Verge. The PlayStation Certified label will no longer appear on future devices and PSM will be the upcoming new Android version L no more support. Smartphones with Android 4.4.2 and below, the games do play.

PlayStation Mobile worked only since December last year in the Netherlands and Belgium, but was previously been available for some time in other countries. Sony, then Sony Ericsson, released in 2011, a PlayStation smartphone ‘with game controls, but the Xperia Play was no great commercial success and has never had an effect. In addition to Sony’s own Xperia’s got HTC’s in recent years and the Alcatel One Touch Ultra Idol access PlayStation Mobile.
