Sony will update midrange smartphones to Android Lollipop




Sony has announced several models of its midrange smartphones to update to Android Lollipop. These devices not previously on the planning for an update, something that users of those devices rather disappointing.

It is the Xperia and Xperia M2 M2 Aqua going to get an update to Android 5.1, writes Sony. It takes that step because of feedback and user requests. Previously, Sony started with the updates for its Xperia Z-line, C3 and Xperia Xperia T2 Ultra for Android 5.0 and also getting Android 5.1.

The updates starting next month, claims the manufacturer. It does not talk about features that it adds to the update. The exact schedule for each device is also not yet known. Android 5.1 was released earlier this year. Google has already released a preview version of the next version, Android M . Sony has not yet announced which phones get an update to Android M.
