Sony Mobile has presented at IFA 2016 two new smartphones: the Xperia XZ and X Compact. The XZ is a new high-end model that will be available for 699 euros in stores from mid-October. Inside the smartphone houses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820, 3GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage. As so often, Sony wants to score well with the camera. Those features 23 megapixels, a triple image sensor and a hybrid autofocus. In addition, it can also record 4K videos. An additional RGBC IR sensor measures the composition of the ambient light and controls the white balance for improved color scheme. The Xperia XZ is only 8.1 mm thick and IP65 / 68 resistant to dust and water.

Even the front camera offers 13 megapixels and should provide appropriately for selfies. Even a fingerprint reader has integrated Sony. The back of the Sony Xperia XZ is made of metal. For the battery Sony called again a capacity of 2,900 mAh. Factory Android 6.0.1 is pre-installed, so not the latest version. If and when an update could follow on Android 7.0 aka Nougat, Sony reveals yet.
