Sophos acquires Dutch HitmanPro-maker SurfRight about

The British security firm Sophos takes in Hengelo based on SurfRight. The Dutch company is known for its anti-malware program HitmanPro. Sophos has received $ 31.8 million, representing approximately 29 million paid to the company.

HitmanPro Alert 2 Sophos said in a press release that SurfRight techniques have been developed that make it possible to detect zero days based and advanced attack detection and prevention. The acquisition Sophos says it wants to improve its own security products.

All employees of SurfRight remain employed and also the headquarters in Hengelo is maintained. SurfRight-CEO Mark Loman will start working at the Enduser Sophos Security Group. The development and support of the popular HitmanPro software will also be continued.
