SoundCloud is music scanning upload infringement

SoundCloud is an agreement entered into with Zefr, a company that has developed an algorithm to identify the authors of video and music files. SoundCloud want to recognize the software illegal material, but not necessarily block.

SoundCloud Zefr software is already used by Google on its YouTube platform and through the deal with SoundCloud, the company has a large customer. The software enables Zefr SoundCloud able to copyrighted music files that users upload to recognize.

According to The Verge can SoundCloud deploy algorithms Zefr to keep copyrighted music from its platform, but it is also possible that the music service just to record companies want to give the opportunity to advertise effectively. For example, the Zefr software to a music publisher would be able to give a signal if there are tracks or portions of tracks, for example in a remix, are detected, after which the company can place advertisements. YouTube is already working with this model and SoundCloud introduced in August last year an advertising model.
