Find a Question:
South Korean scientists have used the nanorobots to treat cancer
Scientists conducting a lot of research in the treatment of cancer . Recent developments Korean researchers show new methods of treatment of malignant tumors, which may be used in the future.
A group of scientists Chonnam National University (Chonnam National University), South Korea, was the first to develop a special nanorobots capable of independently find and enter a special medicine to the environment of the cancer cell, reports globalpost.com. As nanorobotov perform special bacteria, which can detect even low concentrations of certain chemical compounds and proteins which may be present in large quantities in the presence of cancer cells .
Moreover, after the detection of cancer cells activates the new device microbivore second portion which consists of a robotic device to three microns in size, capable of acting drug administered to the infected cell.
“We have created nanorobots capable of not only themselves detect incipient disease at an early stage, but also to suppress its development until the infected cells still treatable,” – said the South Korean Ministry of Science.
Currently new invention has some limitations. In particular, it can only work with “hard” forms of cancer, such as colon cancer or breast. But researchers report that in the future they will develop the technology and the next generation of nanorobots will be able to detect other forms of cancer .
