Space Lander Philae can restart expected in March

The ESA expects Philae few months back in operation. The space lander would have collected enough energy in March to start and after a warm-up period could be considered charging Philae.

The engineers of the space agency speak on Reddit their expectations from. The space lander would have enough energy again in March 2015 in order to boot. Philae must then be heated and the technicians can only then thinking of charging the battery. When charging is started, is expected to take a few days until the battery is completely full. At the beginning of the summer Philae could again be put to work.

Philae is released on November 12 of its wearer Rosetta and a few hours later landed on the comet 67P / Churyumov-Gerasimenko. The landing had some problems. Philae was bounced on the surface and hundreds of meters from the intended landing ended. The space lander is indeed stable, but at a position where sunlight is captured less than previously calculated. It would go to a rocky section of the comet, where only 90 minutes of sunlight per 12 hours.

The purpose of the space mission is to collect samples and then to analyze them. There would be all organic, according to the German Space Agency DLR molecules are observed. In many places in the universe come to carbon compounds and scientists are working to further analyze the data. So want to make comparisons with the ESA scientists substances on earth. The end of the mission was scheduled to launch on December 31, 2015. Philae was part of the Rosetta satellite which was launched in March 2004. In total, the satellite could be more than ten years to reach the terminal and there would be more than six billion kilometers.
