Spanish manufacturer Geeks Phone stop making smartphones




The Spanish Geeks Phone, known by KPN sold Black Phone and various models with Firefox OS and Android, will cease. Many employees switch to Silent Circle, the maker of the software for the privacy-oriented Black Phone.

Geeks Phone stops completely with the development of new phones, writes the Spanish site Hipertextual. The most famous models are the privacy-oriented Black Phone and Keon with Firefox OS.

Many of the staff would go to Silent Circle, the Swiss company that makes the software for the Black Phone. Thus these individuals would also continue providing support to vessels sold it already.

The Spanish manufacturer has six years of existence. It began in 2009 with an Android phone that looked a lot like Samsung’s Omnia Windows Mobile device. Geeks Phone himself denies that the company ceases to exist, but it recognizes that there are no plans for the future more. One of the founders would this fall with a new company to endorse a wearable.
