Spotify adds PayPal, and stop apps in desktop client




Spotify has added PayPal as a payment option. Until now, customers could only pay by credit card, PayPal or a gift certificate. At the same time stops Spotify offering third-party apps in the desktop client.

Spotify (sharper) The iDeal support is rolled out from today; Dutch, all Spotify users have “within weeks” about it. The iDeal payment is probably true only for the first month; Spotify then know which account belongs to the user and the subscription can be automatically debited. However, Spotify does not reveal how the iDeal link works.

Spotify has the same time in an e-mail announced to developers that will support the app from the desktop client of Spotify removed. Third parties could make apps that was approaching from a tab in the Spotify client. Among other, Rolling Stone and The Guardian made apps for music streaming service.

An update to the Spotify client that support is no longer provided, is now being rolled; most users will update early next year ingest. Developers were already longer add any new apps, and update any existing apps.
